After weeks of planning, the day for the students of Hughes Hall to relax and enjoy themselves instead of studying finally arrived.

153 guests enjoyed a range of entertainment, fine wines and a four course meal of:

Starters:
Layered Lobster Terrine
Stilton and Fig Tart

Main course:
Beef Sirloin Steak
Raviolli with Polenta and Cheese Filling

Pomegranate and prosecco pre-dessert

Dessert:
Pear and chocolate tort
Chocolate brownie

When planning the menu we had to take into account a number of food allergies ranging from kiwi, chili and stilton to root vegetables and nuts.

After the meal the guests continued to let their hair down and were treated to an oyster bar and a champagne bar. Not a bad way to spend the evening!

There is no rest for Tom’s Kitchen this weekend either! We have another ball at Anstey Hall on Friday night, a dinner party on Saturday and a barbeque on Sunday. Watch out next week for the details.
