Champagne and canapes greeted the birthday girls guest as they arrived to celebrate Susan’s 40th birthday.

We spoiled the guests with canapes of:

Smoked salmon on a beetroot blini with crème fraiche and caviar
Roast duck breast with port marinated cherries on a malted crostini.
Cambridge blue with a spiced onion chutney and cherry tomato
Rump steak with chips and béarnaise sauce on brioche

After time to enjoy a glass or two of champagne the guests were called into the kitchen to dine on a 3 course meal being cooked in front of them by our chef Pete. Pete cooked up a feast of:

Starter:
Pea risotto with goats cheese, Parma ham, rocket salad and tomato salsa

Main course:
Slow braised lamb shank with dauphinnoise potato, confit carrots, swede puree and caramelised shallots.

Dessert:
Rich chocolate tart with lemon set cream and macerated raspberries

Much fun and laughter had by all. (us included!)
