lWell they say no rest for the wicked and it certainly is that way for Tom’s Kitchen! We have had functions all weekend keeping us out of mischief.

The first was the Graduation ball for over 170 medical students from the University of Cambridge. The menu for the evening was a 3 course event of:

Starter:  Buffalo mozzarella, vine tomato and basil salad with pesto dressing

Main:  Thyme roasted chicken supreme pomme fondant, peas and beans fricassee and tarragon jus
Butternut squash risotto cake with peas and beans fricassee and red pepper sauce

Dessert:  Trio of chocolate tart, summer berries and lavender and honey mousse

Followed by:  Tea and Coffee and port in the library.

After the meal the students celebrated the end of year with dancing the night away with a Ceilidh and to add extra sparkle to the night a firework display.

We are very grateful to Callum who sent us the following letter of appreciation:

Dear Tom,

Everyone who has commented on the ball has spoken very highly of it, and I am certain that we could not put on such a splendid party without your invaluable help. Those who I spoke to about it were incredibly favourably impressed with your food (though having tasted it myself I don’t need to rely on the reviews of others). Further to this you, Cheryl and your staff were professional, capable and well-organised throughout the evening; this made thing so much easier for the committee and I am sure that the guests appreciated the impeccable standards of service.
It has been a real pleasure to work with you. I recall you mentioning in March that “the service we provide means I will design as many menus as it takes for you to be 100% happy.” Indeed, I could not be happier. Your attention to detail, insight into all aspects of planning and prompt and courteous replies to our many (many) queries helped things run so smoothly.
Thank you very much for all your help and we wish you all the best,

Callum & the Grad Ball Committee
