Tom’s Kitchen was invited to Great Shelford to create a special surprise birthday meal for Alison and 11 guests.

The birthday girl had no idea Tom was downstairs cooking up a storm in her kitchen whilst she was upstairs getting ready for what she thought was to be a meal at a restaurant to celebrate.

The guests arrived to a champagne reception and a very shocked Alison who could not believe her husband and all of her guests managed to keep the evening a secret!

The menu for the evening was:

Starter: Tian of smoked salmon and prawns with tomato salsa and brioche.

Main: Herb crusted rack of lamb with confit sweet potato, aubergine caviar & leek veloute

Dessert: White chocolate panacotta with tuille biscuit & mixed berry compote

Followed by a selection of local cheeses with celery, grapes and biscuits, coffee, tea and handmade chocolates.

Tom also recommended the wine to accompany the meal to ensure the birthday girl and all of her guests had a celebratory meal to remember!
