Festival fun was the theme of the wedding celebrations for Russ and Reena. From the moment the guests arrived they were treated throughout the day and evening to a spectacular array of traditional games, swing boats, fireworks, dancing and live music.
The guests arrived, walking down a carpeted woodland archway being greeted with peach belinis. They were then invited to sample the canapes which were set up on traditional style stalls along with the offer of pimms and soft drinks in traditional old style bottles with straws. They had the delicious choices of:
Mini popcorn cones with a selection of flavours, sweet, salty, spicy
Mini burgers with cheddar and tomato relish and mini lamb burgers Moroccan style and veggie bean burgers with tomato relish
Cones of falafel and arrancini with cucumber and chilli dressing
Wholetail breaded scampi with homemade tartare sauce served in a newspaper cone
After time to enjoy the swing boats and games the guests were then called in to enjoy a 3 course wedding breakfast in the beautifully decorated marquee.
They enjoyed sharing platters of:
Starter:
Smoked chicken
Home cured duck breast with olives and capers, artichokes, fresh ciabatta and watercress
Vegetable terrine.
Main course:
Rack of Lamb served carved on a plate or board
Chicken ballentine of sun blush tomatoes, basil and parmesan with smoked tomato dressing
Butternut squash risotto
Spiced vegetable kebabs with goats cheese and smoked tomato dressing
Rosemary roast potatoes
Panache of minted vegetables
Marinated fennel and courgettes with a lemon dressing
Dessert:
Honey and malteser cheesecake
Summer pudding
Chocolate tart
During the meal a family friend entertained with singing and playing piano which he received a standing ovation for!
After the meal there was a coffee station set up for the guests to help themselves to a selection of coffee, tea and homemade truffles. There was also a selection of cheese and biscuits set up on a stunning woodland themed display.
The evening celebrations then began with more live singing, traditional dancing and a spectacular fireworks and lazer show.
The reception food was a scrumptious lamb asado barbecue accompanied with flatbread, rolls and mint sauce. Just what the guests needed to keep them partying through the night!
