What a glorious day for a wedding! Finally the sun came out and created a perfect setting in the secret garden at Burwash.
The theme for the day was Grecian and the marquee looked beautiful with all the sunflowers, shells and coke bottles! (the grooms surname was Coke so very apt!) The guests were even supplied with flip flops for tired feet and sunglasses of all shapes and colours.
As the wedding party arrived from the church they were greeted with a choice of champagne, champagne with cassis, pink champagne or a soft drink and canapes of watermelon and feta cheese and marinated strawberries and parma ham
After some time to enjoy the sunshine and champagne the guests were called into the marquee to enjoy a mezze of delicious foods.
Starter:
Large platters of Greek style meze of:
Warm pitta breads
Babaganoush
Taramasalata
Hummus
Stuffed vine leaves
Chicken wings with yellow pepper harissa marinade
Main course:
Tiger prawns and baby squid roasted with garlic and herbs, lemon and basil dressing
Halloumi and vegetable skewers with greek pesto
Chargrilled Chicken and pepper kebabs with smoked paprika and lime and chilli marinade
Chargrilled loin of lamb with black olive tapenade and zucchini
Traditional greek salad with crumbly feta
All served with crusty bread.
And for dessert the guests were treated to a slice of wedding cake which was a scrumptious 3 tier chocolate brownie made by us decorated with strawberries and edible flowers.
After the meal, fruit punches were mixed and a photo booth was set up for everyone to take memorable photos of the day. The evening reception we supplied a hog roast which had been set up in the gardens for the guests to enjoy in the cool night air.
