Despite a rocky start to the weather in the morning, things turned out perfectly for Emma and Doug’s wedding. When they arrived from the church with a piper leading the way, they were all greeted in the gardens with pimms and canapes with a bit of Scottish twist:
Haggis with neeps
Watermelon with feta cheese and mint jelly
Fillet of beef with bearnaise on malted crostini
Glazed pork sausages
Duck breast with port marinated cherry
Smoked salmon on a chive blini with creme fraiche and caviar
After time to enjoy the sunshine the guests were called in to enjoy a two course meal of:
Cannon of sirloin with Scottish swede and potato cakes, panache of vegetables and a reduction sauce.
And for dessert a favorite of an assiette of chocolate tart, fruits of the forest tart and lemon posset.
After the meal a special guest was treated to his very own cake as he was celebrating his 6th birthday and all the guests joined in to sing him happy birthday!
The guests were then treated to work off some of the delicious food by dancing away to a ceilidh and guests of all ages joined in the fun! After the ceilidh the evening food was served with a Scottish theme to it:
Big rustic pans of stovies served with oatcakes, bread and butter,
Bacon rolls served with good old tomato and brown sauce.
and if they could squeeze it in a slice of wedding cake.
The evening carried on with a disco into the wee small hours, again with young and old all dancing the rest of the night away. A great day had by all and a delight for us to cater for!
