What a great day to celebrate a christening! The sun shone and the gardens of Lee and Laura looked stunning with the marquee set up and all the decorations in place.
When the guests arrived they enjoyed a glass of pimms and tucked into a barbeque of:
Mini burgers for children and butchers sausages
Asian Tuna skewers
Chicken and mixed pepper kebabs
2 whole legs of lamb 1 butterfly (garlic and rosemary) and one on bone Moroccan style
1 whole salmon stuffed with fennel, lemon and dill
With accompliments of:
Vine tomato, red onion, basil
New potato with spring onion, parsley and wholegrain mustard mayonnaise
Beetroot with rosemary, hazelnuts and walnuts
Asparagus from BBQ with a plain olive oil dressing
Green leaf salad
Fresh bread
Followed by fresh cream pavlova with strawberries and raspberries
After the guests were full to the brim with all the delicious food they strolled to the church for the christening ceremony.
Upon their return the guest were greeted with a glass of champagne and an afternoon tea of homemade scones, clotted cream and Jam with coffee and various teas.
Afterwards there was nothing else for it but to run around and work off all the food and play a game of football! Well for some anyway, others took what would be my personal option to sit, watch and enjoy the sunshine!! A great day had by all!
