A celebration of union was the theme of the day with a Union Jack, Euro and German flag decorating each of the tables.
After coming in from the snow, warming by a roaring fire and enjoying a glass of bubbly, the guests were treated to a traditional meal typical of the grooms home region with Tom being privy to family recipes!
Starters:
Selection of cured and smoked meats and cheese served with, tomato salad, gherkins and large homemade pretzels
Main course:
Sauerbraten with spatzle
Selection of vegetables
Vegetarian lentil and vegetable stew
After the guests had enjoyed the first two courses which were laid out in buffet style for the guests to help themselves, the bride and groom then cut the cake which was laid out for dessert with a selection of fruit and a special double Gloucester cheese which had been made by a family member accompanied by a selection of crackers, grapes and celery.
Full to the brim, the guests then sat back and enjoyed the speeches, one of which was a slide show!
All rested, the guests then made their way down to dance the night away and enjoy the evening food of:
Warm sausage rolls
Selection of fruit bananas, apples and pears.
Vegetarian bruschetta with tomato, mozzarella and basil
And wedding cake
We received fantastic compliments for the food and service. A big compliment as the pressure was on to follow the family recipes!
